London, July 14.
A temporary cut in Britain's tea ration was an- nounced in the House of Commons today by the Food Minister, Mr. John Strachey, as a re- sult of strikes in Calcutta and Colombo. Mr. Strachey said that the tea ration-normally eight ounces per person one month and 12 ounces the next-would be eight ounces per month until the middle of November. It would not be necessary to make this temporary re- duction for people of 70 and over and seamen,

A MURDER IN THE TOWER
London, July 14. Murder in the Tower of London-a murder which superstition brands a threat to the destiny of Britain and her Empire was revealed today, A week ago, "MacDonald," one of the Royal ravens which have strutted traditionally for centuries in the quadrangles of the Tower, was found by the Raven Master with his head lopped off, Scotland Yard was not called in, but ever since the murder a detachment of eight soldiers from the 2nd Battalion Irish Guards has kept a night and day vigil at the raven loft.
Tradition has it that on the day the last of the King's raveng disappear from the Tower, the walls of London's medieval fortress will crumble, and Bri
