On India
Margate, May 29.
The Foreign Minister, Mr. Bevin, who devoted a great part of his speech at the Labour Party Conference here today to India, Burma, Indo- nesia, China and Japan, received an over- whelming vote of confidence when every op- position resolution was defeated on a show of hands. So complete was the victory that no one asked for a formal count of votes. "All I ask this conference to do is to be quite straight with me and either to support a policy or reject it." he said. The conference gave him its unstinted support.

Mr. Bevin had finished his hour and a quarter speech.

Britain's Policy On Far East Peace
(By Sylvain Mangeot)
London, May 29.
The statement of British policy for procedure in the Far Eastern settlement made by Mr. Bevin, in his foreign policy survey at Margate today is seen in some quarters here as the most original single section of the speech which otherwise consisted mainly of an claboration of the already known British view- points.
Mr.Bevin demanded that the eleven Allied Powers who fought Japan should be in from the Far Eastern peace conference to the con- clusion of treaty negotiations. This is a de parture from the procedure adopted by the Big Four during the satellite peace talks and would mean that Far Eastern peace would be made on an entirely new pattern. Mr. Bevin
made this clear tabled by the Big Four, Mr. whon he expressed his belief Bevin will refuse to consider any that if the method he proposed proceduró which ' seeks to limit were adopted, the Japaness peace the vital concluding stages of dis- trenty could be negotiated much cussion to the great powera
