Up to the present none of the measures taken to arrest the crippling inflation has succeeded and it is generally recognized that none will be effective unless the Government and the Communists compose their differences. About 80 per cent of the national revenue is still being poured into the army and there is Httle or no money for rehabilita tion of the country.
