For the future I am hopeful the Society will continue to be in a reasonably sound financial position. However, I should say that its future commitments e.g. secretarial assistance, journal publica- tions and particularly to the Hong Kong Arts Centre and whether it wishes to rent premises there, may well mean reappraisal. I am hopeful that the Society will be able to sustain these future commit- ments but a further rise in subscriptions cannot be ruled out.
