Many Questions Remain To Be Settled
Problems For Sir Ralph Stevenson
Shanghai, Sept. 24.
Although only recently installed in his China post, Sir Ralph Stevenson, the new British Ambas- sador, is already busily engaged in straighten- ing out the many unsettled questions affecting British interests here, notably the future of British shipping in this country, repossession of British properties, and claims against Japan for war damages.
The greatest importance is being attached to the shipping problem, and in his efforts to find a solution the Ambassador will be assisted by Mr. Millbourn, of the Ministry of War Trans- port, newly-appointed Shipping Counsellor on the staff of the British Embassy in China.
