WELFARE OF INDIAN TROOPS

Members of the local Indian Community will be interested to know what welfare 'work-is-being done for Indian soldiers in the Colony..

During the current year $3,500 has been sent for their beneût by ..the

Indian radio sets for the Wing of the Combined Military Hospital, Hong Kong Singapore Royal Artillery and Hong Kong Mule Corps. Other units already had powerful sets and these have been improved by the addition of amplifiers and extra loud speakers so that radio programmes can be relayed to different rooms in the barracks. Some Indian units main- tain clubs for Indian officers and other ranks. Grants have been made to them to provide articles to brighten up the club rooms while carpets and rattan chairs belonging to the Garrison Wel- fare Society have been lent dur- ing the
