Don McNeill, displaying the bast tennis shown, this season, blasted his way into the semi-finals of the American Tennis Championships yesterday at Forest Hills by beat- ing Wayne Sabin 6-2, 7-5, 3-6, 6-3.

Frankle Kovacs, Indoor cham- Dion, who is fancied to succeed McNeill, entered the semi-finals by beating Jack Kramer, 0-4, 7-5,7-5.

The women's semi-finalists in- clude Margaret Osborne and Pauline Betz. Miss Osborne, though not ranked in the first ten American tennis players. Is enjoy- ing a brilliant season and is cap- Miss able of upsetting anybody. COLONY GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP

The Amateur championship of Hong Kong will be held at Royal Hong Kong Golf Club. Fanling, on October 26. Entries close on Mon- Ten day, October 20 at 10 a.m. entries will be accepted from each Club, the players to be of handi- cap 12 or under, with a residential qualification of at least six months. Entries fee is $5, and small prizes will be awarded for (a) the best score over 38 holes, (b) the best visitors' score over 38 holes, (c) the best round on thè Old Course. and (d) the best round on the New Course. Any surplus money will be donated to the "S. C. M. Post" Bomber Fund. For two weeks prior to the actual competition, the Fanling Course will be available to Intending competitors for practice | (Sunday, October 19, excepted).
