CANADIAN SUPPLY OF BRITAIN

The rapid increase in Canada's exports of war materials and food to Great Britain and her allies was emphasised in а statement in Ottawa yesterday by the Cana- dian Minister of Trade and Commerce, Mr. James A. Machinnon.

Canada's export trade mercased by 30 per cent. in June, and [

there was

a similar increase for the first six months of the pre- sent year over the same period of last year.

Exports to the United King. dom, during the first six montlus. increased by 28 per cent, and la the United States by 33 per cent. The mervase to the Straits Settle- ments was 72 per cent winle that to the Netherlands East Indies had recently been doubled, and exports to the Philippines were up by 33 per cent. -Reuter.
