NORWEGIAN'S ESCAPE FROM TYRANNY
THE THRILLING STORY of the escape of a young Norwegian from his native country, now occupied by the hated Germans, and an account of his subsequent journey to Shanghai, from which city he left a few days ago to join the Norwegian Air Force now being trained in Canada, was given by Mr. K. A. Persen, well-known commentator in Shanghai over Radio Station X.M.H.A.
By interviewing the intrepid young Viking, who risked his life to escape from Nazi tyranny, Mr. Persen was able in his broadcast to give an eye- witness story of what is really happening in Norway to-day and to expose as lies German propaganda stories from that country. The talk follows:

A décrce to this effect was issued by the Nor- wegian Government in order to guarantee the meat supply of the Norwegian population. My friend said: There is only one piece of truth in that telegram. Whatever meat might be left in Norway will be guaranteed by that de- crée to go only to the Nazis. But,' he added, 'no Nazl decree is necessary to ensure this because- the fact of the matter is that meat has been unobtainable in all the cities of Norway for Norwegians for many months past, and we all know perfectly well that the only people in Norway who can obtain meat are the Germans and the 'quislings.'
