WATCH ON FAR EAST
Dangers Of Southward Expansion
THE DANGERS of a Japanese drive southwards and the need for Britain to watch developments there were emphasised by the Diplomatic correspondent of "The Times."
The correspondent says: "News reach- ing London in the past few days has suggest- ed that Japan is keeping up the drive south- ward and is seeking air and naval bases in southern Indo-China and Thailand. Nothing is known for certain but the speeches of Prince Konoye and Mr. Matsuoka at the beginning of the week hinted that Japan was about to make a move which would not be anti-Soviet.'

It is likely that the Crown Prince and Princess will remain in South Africa for the present.
It is not known how long the King and the Prime Minister will stay in South Africa. but pro- bably they will visit England at some future date to consult the British Allied Governments.
Naturally, the King will make it his prime task of attending to the training, equipment, and ex- pansion of the Greek Armed Forces. As is already known at least half of the Royal Hellenic Navy survived the battle of Greece and is now cooperating with the Mediterranean Fleet,
