THE BRITISH GOVERNMENT'S comprehen-

The Archbishops
and Canterbury both spoke at the Church Assembly yesterday on the need for Christian educa- tion at schools.
A resolution was passed "that this House, convinced of the need of true Christian education | in all schools of the country and gratefully recognising the work of teachers in all classes of schools, gives general approval to the statement recently issued by the Archbishops of Canterbury and York and Wales and strong- ly urges that with the coopera- tion of various Christian com- munities, of the education authorities, of parents, of teachers and Christian citizens generally, speedy effect may be given to the five points therein contained."
