LEADS FOR SATURDAY'S

LEAGUE BOWLS MATCH

OWING TO THE INACTIVITY OF A NUMBER OF CLUBS LAST SATURDAY, DUE TO THE IN, CLEMENT WEATHER, THERE ARE FEW CHAN- GES IN THE COMPOSITION OF THE VARIOUS FIRST DIVISION TEAMS FOR THE COMING SATURDAY'S GAMES.

Both Recreio “A” and I.R.C., who met last week, have made no changes in their sides, while Craigen- gower are making only one change, promoting L. Gaddi in place of W. K. Way, who will again skip a Second Division rink.

K F.C. have made a change in skips -P. Younghusband, who lost his 100 per cent, record to C C Pereira in his last appearance, is playing No. 3 to W. V. Field in place of V Chittenden, and E. Kern is going to skip in his place

BREAKING-IN NEW BATCH OF AUSTRALIANS

The breaking-in" of the28 subscription griffins and 20 griffins which arrived from Aus- tralia last month was commenced at the Race Course last Tuesday morning..

It is further understood that the balance of the shipment, comprising 24 griffing and 48 "subs," will arrive in the near future in two lots. These ponies will not be racing until next February at the earliest.

The present bunch appear to be in excellent shape, after a very comfortable trip.

The "ball" used is very simi- lar to the puck used in ice-hoc-

key, but though this new game to the Colony is not quite as fast as its ice-counterpart it should be,, nevertheless, ¡interesting enough. There are eight players in cach team.

In addition to this match com- petitions will be held between the two rinks in fancy skating (men, women and children), while there will also be an arithmetic race and a thread the needle race.
