The Commandant has great pleasure in publishing the follow- ing letter received from His Ex- cellency the General Officer Com- manding:

"I wish to convey to all ranks of the Hong Kong Volunteer De- fence Corps present on this morning's parade to mark the oc- casion of the birthday of His Majesty the King, my satisfaction and pleasure with the turnout and appearance of all ranks of the Corps. Their so'dierly bear- ing displayed a good standard of discipline and efficiency and in- dicates high morale and esprit de corps.
