BEFORE WE LOWER the curtain on the most successful Softball season, and usher in King Base- ball, let us recall some of the hair-breadth plays and split-second masterpieces that have combined to give us a most enjoyable season, and although play- ers and spectators alike have had occasions to hurl fiery barbs at each other, this corner is convinced that venom was never in their hearts. Yessirree, it's been great fun.
