RUMJAHN COUSINS CARRIED TO 4 SETS; FIRST SEMI-FINAL K. H. Ip Outstanding Player On Stand Court

By "Adrem"

CURRENT OPINION was upset rather at Hong Kong Cricket Club yesterday when S. A. and H. D. Rumjahn, who have generally been considered to be in better form this season than they were last season, only managed to beat Ho Ka-lau and K. H. Ip by 6-3, 6-4, 2-6, 6-4, in the first semi-final match in the Colony Tennis Championships.

The fact that the match lasted so long can be attributed to the magnificent display of young Ip. In this, his first year of Colony tournament play, he stood head and shoulders above the three other players--whose total experience of tournament ten- nis probably runs into something like 70 years.

This fact would not be so sur prislog in any place other
