Col. Knox. the U.S. Secretary of Navy. revealed yesterday thut H.M.S Illustrious, after direct hit by a 1.000-lb. bomb during the attack by dive-bombers in the Straits of Sicily, proceeded first to Malta and later to Alexandria un- der her own power.
