ANGLO-PORTUGUESE TIES RENEWED IN LISBON

RENEWED ASSURANCE of the friend- ship uniting Britain and Portugal were ex- pressed in Lisbon yesterday when Sir Ronald Campbell, new British Ambassador to Portu- gal, presented his credentials to President Carmona.

The Spanish Am- bassador to Italy, Senor Garcia Condey Mendez, has been recalled and told to hold himself at the disposal

of the Spanish Foreign Office, said a Madrid despatch to the Ita- lian Stefani agency in Rome yesterday.
