Father L. M. Feery said as the result of a case that happened at the Cathedral ten or twelve years ago the tower was adequately protected and only a man with some physical development and a certain amount of nerve could get over the 10ft, railings.
Police-Sergeant John Mc- William said that Fex must have been a very athletic man, there poing spikes turned inwards to climb over and a space of only 2ft. to get through.
The coroner, Mr. Bentley Pur- chase said he was satisfied that were the railings on the tower adequate except, perhaps, to any- one who would brook no obstacle. Verdict: Suicide while of unsound .mind.
