emblem of romance.

Mr. Stanley Ellis, whose home Was in Brokesley Street, Bow, went "down West" to see a bit of

life.

In June, Britain in creased its exports of rabbit skins to the USA, by thirty-eight times in one month. In July it increased its exports by twenty- seven times...

NEGLECT OF RAID VICTIMS

London should be ashamed of the way it is treating some of its refugee citizens, writes a reporter.

When German bombs drove them from their shattered homes, their spirit remained firm. Now, bungling officialdom is achieving more than ever Hitler could, and the people who held their heads high before the terror of the skies are becoming dispirited and dis- contented,

This is a vital matter which the Government dare not afford to neglect.

In an East End school I saw the under which pitiable conditions some of these homeless people are living (writes a special pondent).

Fish And Chips Diet

One family which has lived in this place for nearly a fortnight told me that in that time there, had been four hot meals, this descrip- tion applying to hot soup on three occasions, fish and chips on the other,

For the rest, the meals had varied between bread and jam and and corned beef,
