THEIR HOME smashed by Nazi bombers.
Five of their twelve children lost in the sinking of the evacuee ship by a U-boat, That is what the Germans have done to the Grimmond family, of |Lilford Road, Camberwell.
Just before the children were due to leave Lon- don for the embarkation port, bombers reduced their home to a mass of debris. The family were safe in their shelter, but all the new clothes that had been bought for the little evacuees were destroyed:
