Mr. R. A. Butler, Under-Secretary for Foreign Affairs, declined, when questioned in the House of Commons yesterday, to reveal de- tails of the recent conversations in Washing- ton between the Secretary of State, Mr. Cor- dell Hull, and the British Ambassador, Lord Lothian, on Pacific security.
Mr. Butler merely stated that Britain is keeping the closest possible contact with the United States on all questions of mutual in- terest in the Far East, including naval. and similar defence matters. International News Service.
