THE STEADILY expanding activities of the Bri- tish air forces based on the Middle East was reveal- ed in last night's Cairo communique which, inci- dentally, showed that the R.A.F. squadron which shot down nine Italian biplanes on the Greek front on Tuesday had only arrived on Monday and moved to its operations base a few hours before its first serious successful effort.
In addition to the Australian Air Force action in the Western Desert and the South African raids on Italian Somaliland, the communique records a Succession of raids on Italian East Africa and North Africa.
