BATSMEN, EXCEPT IN A FEW CASES, COM- PLETELY OVERSHADOWED THE BOWLERS IN SATURDAY'S PROGRAMME OF FRIENDLY CRIC KET MATCHES AND THERE WAS QUITE A GLÜT OF RUNS.

Best individual performance of the day was F. J. Lay's 80 for Kowloon Cricket Club juniors against Civil Service, while Emmerson, who took six Craigen- gower wickets for 17 runs, for Mr. Fargus' XI, was the most successful bowler, although Hulse, in the same match, and Baldwin, for K.C.C. 2nd XI against Civil Service, also did well.
