AN AIR CORRESPONDENT at the head- quarters of the British Air Force in Greece makes it clear that the nine Italian 'planes shot down by the R.A.F. on Tuesday were part of a large formation of fighters engaged over the enemy. lines.
The battle was the first major clash be- tween R.A.F. fighters and enemy 'planes over the Italo-Greek battlefront and demonstrated once again the toughness of the British Gladiator biplanes in action, and of their pilots.
