NEUTRAL COMMENT

GREEK CAMPAIGN

ON

THE MILITARY correspondent of the Stockholm "Dagens Nyheter," in an article yesterday, says it is not wise to under- estimate the Greeks' fighting ability and praises the Greeks for their modest com- muniques.

It is clear, he says, that the Italians are not securing great successes. A few days ago they claimed to have crossed the Kalamas River but now nothing is heard of this.

Further north the Italians are still less successful and it is even reported that the Greeks are ap- proaching Koritza and are threa- tening the important Italian junc- tion.

As regards air activity, one receives the impression, says the correspondent, that the Italian air force is not as good as ad- vertised.

Italian bases are very near Greece and one might have ex- pected fierce attacking air forces crushing all resistance in the manner of the German air force.

RAISE FUNDS

Nearly £70,000 has been raised by Greeks in Egypt for the prosecution of the war against Italy.

The Cairo section of the Fund has now reached nearly £30,000 and the Alexandria section of the Fund nearly £40,000.

The Italians had complained that the Turkish press failed to report Italian victories. "Ulus" replies:-

The Turkish press prints the Italian communiques which so far have not reported any vic- tories!"

The paper also deals with an article in the Italian paper "Gior- nale d'Italia," which tried to makę

out that Italy does not attack small states and, in attacking Greece, was attacking Britain also,

"Ulus" comments:
