Delhi Conference Gets Down Quickly To Business
NEARLY 100 REPRESENTATIVES FROM WIDELY SEPARATED PARTS OF THE BRI- TISH EMPIRE ASSEMBLED IN NEW DELHI YESTERDAY FOR DIS CUSSIONS ON HELP-. ING THE MOTHER COUNTRY TO WIN THE WAR BY MAKING THEIR COUNTRIES, AS FAR AS POSSIBLE, SELF SUPPORTING IN WAR PRODUCTION.
The colourful pageantry which is a tra- ditional feature of public ceremonies in the Indian capital was absent at the conference. The very simplicity and brevity of the opening ceremony seemed to be indicative of the de- sire of all representatives to get down to the tasks ahead of them in the shortest possible time.
