SHANGHAI GARRISON DISPUTE
Japanese-American negoti- ations over the problem of the garrisoning of the B Sector in the International Settle- ment are at a standstill.
Diplomatic sources state that Washington is showing the deepest concerp. It is believ- ed that if the Japanese insist on taking over the sector, the American government will further stiffen their attitude. The Shanghai Volunteer Corps, whose garrison duty in the sector is scheduled to expire on October 31, will continue for another month..
