SCORE GOOD GOALS FOR LOSERS

BAD POSITIONING and covering by the de- fence cost Navy their game against Sing Tao in the First Division of the League when they were beaten by 5 goals to 2 on the Club ground.

Sing Tao were faster on the ball and made the best use of their wingers. Fung King-cheong, at in- side right, provided most of the openings and he had the Navy defence continually on the move by his passes to unmarked forwards.

Navy did not deserve to beaten by this margin. At times they played very good football and had the measure of the Chin- ese but their brilliance was only in patches. Hendy, centre for- ward, and Phippens and Bourne, the wingers, were dangerous for- wards but they were wont to keep the ball too long.

Honneywill lat kight-half dis- played good ball control-and-had- a busy afternoon again Ip Pak- wah and Lai Shul-wing Gift, in goal, was at fault with the first goal but had no chance with the others scored against him. He showed promising form and should do well in future.

Chinese took the lead early in the game when Kwok Ying-kee beat Giff, who had run out, for possession, and tapped the ball over his head.

Navy then played well for a time and had the Chinese on the defensive. A breakway on the left found Lai Shui-wing in posses- sion and he scored with a cross shot.

On resumption Kwok Ying-kec Lai Shui-wing (2) scored for Chinese and Hendy (2) and Phippens for Navy.

HOSSACK SCORES 4 GOALS

In a game that lacked thrills and interest Royal Scots beat Kwong Wah by 5 goals to 3

at Sookunpoo yesterday in the First Division.

Royal Scots were easily the su- perior team, their defence proving too strong for Kwong Wah's for- wards, who were on the whole

very ragged.

Hossack was in fine form and netted four of his side's goals despite the attentions

of Pereira, at centre-half.

Duncan was rarely tested while the steady defence of Fraser and Naysmith was an obstacle that Kwong Wah found hard to over-

come.

B. Gosano tried hard on the right wing but many of his, cen- tres were not turned to good ad- vantage. Chin Chi-fun had a poor game, being well watched by Parnaby.

Kwong Wah started in grand style and a m'nute from the com- mencement saw them in the lead when Cheuk. Shel-kam scored from a corner taken by Wong King-chung, Ten minutes later, however, au Royals equalised through Hossack, only to see Go- sano run in from the wing, to give Kwong Wah the lead again. Play at this stage was evenly contested. Marshall beat Lee Kwok-kee to put the Royals on level terms. and Hossack scored soon after to give Royals the lead for the first time. Just be fore the intervāl` Hossack again netted to give Royals a 4-2 lend. Kwong Wah took the field in the second half with ten men, as Lee Kwok-kee, was injured, but from a breakaway Wong King- chung reduced the arrears.

This success resulted in Kwong Wah making great efforts to score but the Scots defence stood up well. Hossack headed in a centre from Marshall to place the issua beyond doubt.
