In his report to the American Medical Association, Dr. Michael submitted that if a carried fewer spare balls around the course with him and replaced them with a supply of sugar to mixed classes yacht race held by the eat while playing, his scores Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club over 9.2 would be greatly improved.

Tests Made By Doctor

A series of tests were made on 30 golfers ranging from 30 to 45 years of age and possessing han- dicaps of 10 to 27. The eating of sugar during their playing en- abled them to reduce their handi- caps considerably. The tests were conducted by taking aver- age golfers, letting them start their round after lunch and tak- ing a blood sample after each hole. As far as possible the stu- dies were performed under nor- mal conditions, with the excep- tion that they were not permitted to smoke during the tests. These tests showed that the sugar con- tent in their blood reached its height when players were at the fifth hole. At the seventh hole the sugar level was on the decline, and from the 11th to the 15th it was so low that the men might not have had their lunch, the sur vey showed.

Sugar, according to Dr. Michael, which is quickly absorbed, creates energy, which instead of being stored up as some other elements are, is quickly expended and needs constant replenishing when more than the usual amount of energy is being called upon:

'DEMPSEY SAYS "COMEBACK" ONLY HIS JOKE

Jack Dempsey's "comeback" attempts are over. In Montreal on a recent visit Dempsey Anally confessed that his recent fighis were more in fun than anything else.

The 45-year-old ex-heavy- weight champion said he would stick to refereeing as far as ring activities for him were concerned, for 45 is too old for fighting.

"I guess maybe I've been a little foolish about this comeback stuff," he said in an interview. "I'm too old to make a comeback. All my friends have been telling me I'd better quit before I get hurt and I guess maybe they're right." Dempsey claimed that he still in good physical shape said he thought he could some of those bums" fighting now, but that that was beside the point. He never in- tended to try a comeback and the whole thing was just a joke.
