Sun Bathe For Health

The course to take in sun bath- ing is that of a happy medium Either extreme, of no sun at all

colour, or tanning to a bronze

is detrimental to health as well as to beauty. We need sun, but not too much sun. Sun bathing in the nude is good for all of us if we can find a spot secluded enough to permit us to lie nude.

Women who have been ailing with sore throats, inertia' and in- digestion, would find Old Sol marvellous cure if they stretched out beneath his warming health-giving rays regularly, with their bodies protected by oil.

ane

Never lie under the sun when it is too hot. Select a middle morning hour for your air and sun bath. Lie comfortably on a mattress or thick towel on the sand of a beach or on the lawn.] Turn every ten minutes so front and back will get the same amount of sun and so that neither side will get too much sun at onc time.

If you have no prepared sun- tan, lotion or cream handy, mix mineral oil with a few drops off jodine (sufficient to make the oil tinged with lavender) and anoint your body with that. After the sun has toasted your skin twenty minutes each side (if it is rather strong) draw a fresh sheet over you and lie a while longer. The sheet prevents a burring and you still benefit by the 'heat you get. Take a warm bath or shower afterward unless you can loll around all day in comfortable sun clothes, and keep the oil on your skin until bedtime or when you dress for the evening.
