Ordinance, 1940, (Ordinance No. 6 of 1940) it is enacted that in case of apprehended. or actual attack on the Colony the Governor by proclamation may call out for active service all or any 'members of the Corps:

The commander of a minesweeper saw an enemy 'plane caught in the beams of coastal searchlights,... Aut!- aircraft shells were bursting all round it and it came crashing down into the sea.
