Tao Teams May Be In S'pore At Same Time

SEVERAL EFFORTS have been made in the past to revive the Chinese Interport Football series between- Singapore and Hong Kong for the "Ho Ho" Cup and, I: have been given to understand, further efforts are now: being made to re-establish the series this year.

It is Hong Kong's turn to visit. Singapore, and negotiations are now proceeding for a Chinese team to' play in Singapore some time in Au-~ gust.
At present Eastern are somewhere: in the Straits Settlements-no news has been received of their where- abouts for some time, not even by Committee members of their
own.
The following are the "B" Division League club-and it is proposed to nominate lawn tennis pairings:-
Eastern as Hong Kong's team if a really representative team from Hong. Kong cannot be found to make the: trip.
If all arrangements go through as 1272 planned, Eastern will again
visit Singapore on their homeward jour-- ney from Burma, while Sing Tao Sports Club, composed mostly of last year's South China team, should also be in Singapore at the same time.
In these circumstances the Hong Kong team would be chosen from: these two teams, and no additional 1⁄2 51⁄2 expenses would be incurred.

If these arrangements materialise and the Interport game is played off, it is expected that Singapore
will visit Hong Kong next year.
Though more than a fortnight has passed, no confirmation has been re- ceived locally from Malaya Football Association to the effect that per- mission has been given for the new- ly formed Sing Tao Sports Club to send a team to Singapore. Until such permission has been obtained, Hong Kong Football Association will not consider any application for per-· mission to make the tour.
Touring teams are faced with more inconvenience than hitherto as they must now obtain permission. from every port they intend visiting be- fore obtaining Hong Kong Football. Association's 'permission to make the trip.
