VISITORS HERE FROM ASSAB, the Italian port and air base in Southern Eritrea, state the aerodrome is burning and the town is completely deserted, as a result of British air raids.

It is stated the glow from the fire is visible for 60 miles. It is added many people fled from Mas- sawa following R.A.F. raids.
