doubt that "Y" have a great future in competitive swimming provided they continue as they have done and en- courage the younger element.....

Probably the most notable result of the day was the defeat of Craigengower Cricket Club by Hong Kong Cricket Club' in Second Division. The latter team thus secured, their first points, whereas their victims of Saturday, after a couple of early reverses, were settling down into a title-winning combination.

Only C.C.C. skip to win was W. Mc- Neill; Bill Way and Lewis both be- ing beaten by large margins...

HINESE Baseball Club did well to beat H.B. on Saturday by 5 runs to 4 and Have now placed them them- selves in a favourable Baseball position for the cham

pionship. The game was marred by an unfortunate incident and the last two innings were played un- der protest.

One umpire was missing and the game started late, two points the Base- ball Association recently passed reso- lutions to avoid.

Rattled from the first inning as the result of one error which caused four runs. H.B. never settled to their usual game and though they played as well during the greater part of the re-. mainder of the game they could not wipe off the deficit.

H.B. had few sympathisers or sup- porters in the stand except for a few from the H.B. Girls' softball team.

inning as he was not feeling well but5; U.S.S. Mindanao-12; South China:-0.

had he not come into the side in the second, H.B. would have been in for a greater beating. Terry was safe as usual and was not afraid of going down to faulty ones even if it meant bruise on the body.

а

George Souza was not on his best form, while Winglee's throw to second seems to have lost its sting.

Leung, at first base, for Chinese played soundly and, did well at bat.

Aquatics
