WORKING OF
BRITISH
COOLNESS
}
Ankara, To-day.
The Istanbul newspaper, "Yenisabah," commenting on the Dunkirk exploit, said that the retreat of the Allies. des- pite tremendous odds and the successful re-embarkation of the troops almost intact un- der heavy fire is a military event of the utmost import-
ance.
The operation, under such condi- tions, assumes the aspect of a victory.
It is necessary to realise the import of this unique feat in military history. It is proof of Allied morale and energy and of the heroic resolve to fight under any conditions.
Thanks to the presence of mind of the commander and the discipline and heroism of the troops, a catas- trophe was avoided.
British Coolness
The Ankara paper, "Ulus," says: We had all heard of British coolness. We were able to witness the workings of this characteristic on the occasion of the German break-through. There was no sign of pessimism anywhere, though unfavourable tidings were not hidden by the Press or by statesmen.
"We observed that the greater the danger grew, so did the determina- tion to. win.
