MANILA RECALL MEMORIES OF PLEASANT VISIT
The Manila football team, still. remembering the happy days on their last they spent here Interport soccer visit, and of the sporting spirit of the Hong Kong team in Manila, are hoping that the series will continue, said Mr. D. Calvo, manager of the P.A.A.F. football team en route to Japan.
He feels certain that Manila would be pleased to visit Hong Kong again even if Hong Kong were unable to pay them a return visit owing to circumstances.

CHINESE BATHING CLUBS'
PROSPECTS REVIEWED
By "NATATOR”
COMPETITION AMONG Chinese swimmers has al- ways been keen, and this year will certainly be no exception. This keenness is further heightened by the hopes of a team for Manila coming here.
Local swimmers are not likely to come up to the P.I. standards, but the experience should prove beneficial in many respects, as evidenced by the vast improvement and boost to local swimming resultant upon the Japanese Olympic Team passing through Hong

Dr. Yllanan passed through the Colony on the way to Japan with the football, baseball and wrestling con- tingent who are taking part in the games at Tokyo next month.
Soon after his arrival here he call- ed on Mr. A.O. Barretto, Hon. Se- cretary of the Victoria Recreation Club and the matter was discussed.
August was the month suggested by Hong Kong for the contests but it was thought that the time was not suitable for Manila as most of the swimmers are University Students and in the midst of their studies.
In October, however, the Universiti- es have a short vacation, about a week, and it is probable that if the contest is arranged it would be possible another for the students to obtain week's leave to make the trip. committees of the two bodies to give

Owing to the rain all the "B" Divi- slon Lawn Tennis League games were sot played yesterday.
South China have not produced any outstanding speed merchants since Norman Lee left for places "more far," and although Coach Henry Kwok Hon-ming, start-off man for the Club's 400 relay quartet, has made many attempts during the last two years to re-form a swimming team, his efforts have not been very successful:
yards Chan Wing-kai, former 50 free style Colony Champion, is. train- ing hard at North Point, and hopes to regain the title which Taylor took from him in the record breaking time of 24 4-5 seconds: This mark will take some lowering but here's wish- ing him luck.
