As already reported, South read the message, bid the six clubs on four small, and was rewarded by making his doubled contract.

They will be received temporarily at centres in London, Lancashire, the West Riding of Yorkshire, Glas- gow, Belfast and the Isle

of Man, and from these centres they will in due course 'be dispersed to more per- manent accommodation..

It is hoped to accommodate a pro- portion of the refugees in private

P. S. April fool! Actually, the five- notrump bid was too much for South, who went to six hearts. Mr. Fish-houses-Reuter. bein then bid six spades, was doubled and set a trick, But if partner had read the bidding, six clubs would have been made.
