The Premier, M. Reynaud, is expected to include in his cabinet personalities which will give the Government the national charac. ter demanded by the circum- stances.

M. Reynaud is now engaged in conferences and consultations with prominent members of par- liament.Havas.

NAZI SHIPS SEIZED

Singapore, To-day, Nineteen German ships which took refuge in the Netherlands East. Indies when war broke out last September have been seized. Their crews have been interned.

This followed the proclamation by the Governor earlier that a state of war existed-Reuter.

Mr. Chamberlain Agrees To Serve Under Him

LONDON, TO-DAY.

AN OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT FROM 10 DOWNING STREET, THE RESID- ENCE OF THE PRIME MINISTER, STATES THAT MR. NEVILLE CHAM- BERLAIN RESIGNED THE OFFICE OF PRIME MINISTER AND FIRST: LORD OF THE TREASURY LAST EVENING.

Mr. Winston Churchill, the announcement adds, has accepted His Majes-

ty's invitation to fill the position.

The announcement followed an audience granted by the King at Buckingham Palace to Mr. Cham- berlain shortly after 5 o'clock last evening. Five minutes after Mr. Chamberlain had left the Palace,

Mr. Churchill was received by the King.

It is officially announced that the Prime Minister was to

broadcast at 8 o'clock (G.M.T.) last night.

The Prime Minister desires that all Ministers should remain at their posts and discharge their func- tions with full freedom and responsibilities while the necessary arrangements for the formation of a new administration are made.

RIBBENTROP TELLS THE SAME STUPID STORY
