SOVIET BORDER CLASH
Shanghal, To-day.
A clash between Soviet troops and Japanese forces occurred on the Manchukuo-Soviet border on Saturday morning, according to reports from 'Pelping yesterday.
Japanese reinforcements were rushed to the scene.-Our Own Correspondent.

Steps designed to promote tighter control over Japan- ese exports to China and Manchukuo were endorsed by the price enquiry com- mission to-day.
Debates revealed that high prices prevailing on the continent, brought about a constant inflow of materials to China and Manchukuo, giving rise to an urgent' demand that the control over exports should apply also to exports within the yen bloc.

An impressive drive for an amelioration of public health has started with the examination by 40,000 doc- tors throughout Japan of millions of patients for the detection of tuberculosis and other diseases.
By the end of July; 5,000,000 per- sons will have been examined by the Welfare Ministry which launched the campaign with the assistance of pri- vate and public associations,
Eventually the campaign will cover some. 10,000,000 persons, including 1,500,000 known to be suffering from consumption and 3,000,000 members of their families and factory workers, office workers and school-children in -- danger of contracting tuberculosis.—
