Mr. Wood, now back in Exeter, has just received a letter redirected from his Cheltenham address. Dated Janu- ary 8, 1940, it came from Mr. Thomas Kelly, of Melbourne. Australia, who wrote:
"I received a Christmas card from my brother in Exeter a few days ago. It was mailed in an unsealed envelope. On opening it, I found the enclosed latter."
It was the missing, love-letter which had travelled 28,000 miles for three- halfpence:
