INSTITUTE TO-DAY.
Presenting the report and accounts, the president said:-
Our two permanent yearly commitments £60 to the Meath Home, Ottershaw, Sur- rey, for the maintenance of two children, and $1,000 to the Nethersole Hospital. for the upkeep of a Cot in the children's ward -have been met as usual, but I regret we were compelled to reduce our contributions to the other charities dependent on us for assistance.
I can assure you that this is in no way due to the decreased activity on the part of 'the various branches of the M.C.L. Each has taken an energetic and successful part in raising funds by obtaining subscriptions, organising bridge drives and sales of work and I should like to take this opportunity of thanking the branch secretaries for the splendid work they have done during the year.
I cannot close this report without refer- ring to the excellent work done by our Hon. Secretary, Mrs. Womack, who at all times, no matter how inconvenient has been most efficient and helpful.
Our thanks are due to Mrs. Kelvin-Stark who came to our rescue when Mrs. Nicol had to resign from the post of Hon. Trea- surer last year-also to Messrs. Lowe, Bingham and Matthews for again auditing our accounts and to the Press for their help on all occasions.
The following committee was re-elected en bloc: Prezident, Mrs. D. L. Newbigging: Vice-president, Mrs. H. R. Butters; Hon. Treasurer, Mrs. A. Nicol; Gen, Hon, Secre- tary, Mrs. O. C. Womack,
