SISTERS AT LAW IN HOUSE DISPUTE
TWO SISTERS, BOTH CLAIMING to be Leung Mei-ha, were parties in an action at the Supreme Court this morning before Sir Atholl MacGregor in connection `with a house in Nga Tsin Long Road. Leung Yuet-ha, állás Leung Mei-ha| för $8,000 as the sister would not let was the plaintiff, and Leung Shui-fan, her have her passport. alias Leung Mei-ha, was the defendant, The former was represented by Mr. Percy Chen, while Mr. Eldön Potter, K.C., was for defendant.
Plaintiff is seeking a declaration, that she is the owner of No. 13, Nga Tsin- long road, return of the crown leases and other documents in connection with the property, and the memorial notice registered by defendant in the Land Office.
The defendant counter-claims for a declaration that the property is, hers and for an order that plaintiff should execute ac assignment of the pro-
perty.
Mr. Chen explained why defendant was also called Leung Mei-ha, say- ing that a memorial notice had been registered by her in that name.
Mr. Chen said the defence was that the sister was Leung Mei-ha, that the property was bought not only in the name of Lee Mei-ha but with her money and for her, and that the be- neficial interest in the house rested with defendant.
PLAINTIFF'S CASE
The plaintiff, Leung Yuet-ha, alias Leung Mei-ha, said she was the sis- ter of defendant, was born in Nam Tau and had lived in Hong Kong for several years. Defendant went to In- do-China when she was 16 years old, married and lived there for some time. She bought the house partly with her own money and partly with money borrowed.
In 1936, she visited her sister and stayed for a month. In August, 1939, she again visited her sister, on the oc- casion of the wedding of their niece, and though she intended to stay only a month, she was forced to stay, owing to circumstances, for five months.
During the stay she was forced to sign a promissory note by her sister

Defendant obtained the title deeds to the property saying she wanted to see the building plans, for a house she wanted to buy in that district, and plaintiff gave them to her.
The case is proceeding.
