BURFORD FAVOURED TO-DAY
Mr. "Boojie" Moller, who is a firm believer in skipping to help one's wind, was again in the limelight yesterday. In the race for the Chater Cup there were only two ponies in it - Spicy- light and Mount Hope Bay-and if any other Jockey had been on Spicy- light Mount Hope Bay would have won. As it was "Boojie" rode that pony with such determination that it Won by half a length. He used the whip and Mr. Black did not. race, the distance, the time, won by, weight Mount Hope Bay, so bear it in mind.

The Derby was one big thrill from start to finish. The Champions is likely to go one better.

Mr. Li Lan-sang's triumph in the Rooty-Hill Derby was not unexpected following Far View's fine effort in the Sydney Maidens, when it equalled the record, but few were prepared to see Mrs. Grasett's Sapper put up such a fine performance in record-breaking time. It may yet prove to be this

As if this were not enough, Royber broke the pastern bone while doing a slow gallop and is now in the stables next to the Paddock wrapped in plaster of Paris and is in no condition yet to be moved to the Jockey Club Stables.
All race-goers, hope that he has now seen the last of his spell of bad luck.
