Shanghai, Yesterday.

The match lacked concerted move- ments, good goal shooting and judi- clous kicking, while thrills were and few between.

THE LOCAL INTERPORT
(By "REFEREE”)
Another chapter in the annals of the Colony's soccer history will be written this afternoon when Saigon Foot- ball Federation meet the Colony side in the first Inter- port at Caroline Hill at 3.30 p.m.
The Saigon team visit the Colony in 1938 under the auspices of South China Athletic Federation and did remarkably well in all their games-drawing with South China în the first and losing in the last by a narrow margin.
During that visit they trounced Hong Kong, Army and Navy.
Recently they have beaten both South China and Eastern in Saigon and have im- proved greatly in the past two years.
to The game to-day promises be very evenly contested. The visitors are very fast and have unbounded stamina and the only thing that will be against them will be the
cold weather.
Hong Kong has chosen its best side and.

was generally anticipated, should creditable performance.
WILLIAMSON A KEY MAN Fowler will be seen on the right wing after his injury in the recent Shield game but the man on whom much will depend is Williamson, the pivot. His style of play will prove a deciding factor in the result.
None of the selected players played in I yesterday's charity game so it is evident that Hong Kong are by no means under- rating their, opponents.
It appears that a number of the Saigon team have played here before, among whom are Bul, the right half, Tal, the goalkeeper, and Ven, a forward.
The game will be controlled by Mr. Stokes
Police McHardy; Blackburn Kwong-yu; North, Gough and Brooks; John-assisted by Messrs. Beard and Foster. son. Howlett, Wong Mau-kwai, Terrier and Pile.
