STORM OF PROTEST IN CANADA

Vancouver, To-day. Following a vigorous pro- test from the Ontario Legis- lature that wheat is being shipped to Russia from Van- couver, "at a time when to all intents and purposes Canada is at war with Soviet Russia," local shippers declare that the shipment in question was for China, not for Soviet Rus- sia.

500 CORPSES

About 500 corpses, mostly of infants, were picked up over the week-end in the foreign areas as a result of the cold wave which brought a heavy

snowfall in its wake.
