Our old friends of U.S.S. Ashville and U.S.S. Mindanao had two encoun- ters, at Ten Pins, one match being played on December 29, and the other
on New Year's Eve.
In the first game played on December 28, Ashville won by 126: pins only and the in- dividual scoren were as follows:-

In this first encounter J. T. Sheehan was easily the highest scorer with 837 to his credit or an average of 188 pins per game, a very good performance but not as much as this player can usually do. The second highest scorer was 'Joe Harvey (as usual) with 823 or an average of 163 pins per `game, this is also a very fair score but Joë' can also do better than this and has done "on many previous occasions. The rest of both teams, trailed away to about 150 or 1ss average per game. :

F. P. Hollis of Mindanao started 1940 very well by notching, frst 137, and afterward 253 at Ten Pins on New Year's Day. His bag for the 253 was as follows:--7 strikes in a row, finishing up with three spares. This is going to make our star bowlers go all out to beat this score.
On Tuesday Doc Molthen played 8. A. Ismail, in the third round of the Singles Handicap Ten Pins Competition. He won the very comfortably by 84 pins. Doc's handicap was; plus 9, and Ismail's plus 26 10 Doc was conceding 16 pins per game. Individual scores were as follows:--
