There is no confirmation in London, says Reuter's diplo- matic correspondent, of the report that Germany has sent the Swedish Government a sharp Note protesting against the despatch volunteers, arms and am- munition to Finland, and conveying a warning that it might lead to unpleasant consequences.

Naturally the fact that both are engaged in a major war, to some ex- tent limits their powers of material assistance, but it is revealed that cer- tain large contracts which Finland placed in England before the outbreak of hostilities, and which had been suspended as the result of the war, are now being executed.
