AMMUNITION

Dublin, To-day.

AN ARMED MILITARY cordon still ringed the city last night as police and troops continued to search for the ammunition stolen from Phoenix Park on Saturday.

Thirty arrests, it is estimated, have now been made. The search goes on not only in the capital but in the woods and lanes of County Kildare and Coun- ty Wicklow, where fields and hedges on estates are being thoroughly combed.

In Dublin military patrols continu- ed to search all cars entering or leav- ing the city, which is so completely cordoned that it is impossible to en- ter or leave without passing through at least one patrol.

All pedestrians carrying cases are stopped and searched, and in the country districts the quest is even more thorough, for every. one, whether walking or cycling, has to submit to examination and explain whence he is coming and whither he is going.

The Government is offering a re- ward of £1,000 for information lead- ing to the recovery of the stolen am- munition.

Substantial rewards will be paid in respect of recovery of any of the ammunition.-Reuter,
