FORGED NOTE CHARGE
How a man obtained, by a trick, 99 tins of dye and attempted to make forged $500 part payment with a banknote was described at the Cri- minal Sessions this morning before the Chief Justice, Sir Atholl Mac- Gregor.

accused, Chong Pak chung charged with uttering and possession of a $500 forged banknote, and with obtaining by trick, 99 tins dye from Ma Chung-fung,
It was alleged that accused with two other men met complainant to obtain the dye for an amount which was agreed previously.
The men told complainant that they had the money with them. Part of the goods were put into a taxi and complainant went to call a friend to examine the banknotes which he expected would be given in payment.
When he returned he found that the men had put all the dye into the taxi. Defendant called him aside and while they were talking the two "men drove away with the dye. When took asked for payment defendant out a $500 banknote which was found to be a forgery. The police called and defendant arrested.

ALLEGATION AGAINST DOCTOR
A Chinese doctor, Chung Sing-sam, 55, of Shanghai Street, and a mar- ried women, Wong Yuk-hing, 50, were remanded for one week by Mr. E. Himsworth at Kowloon this morning when they were charged with unlaw- fully adminstering a certain poison, given by them to a woman named Cheung Lai-yin, with intent to pro- cure a miscarriage.
They were alleged to have ad- ministered the drug to the woman, who is at present in hospital, some- time between December 1 and Decem- ber 17.
Inspector A. E. Carey is in-charge of the case.
HEROIN CASE SENTENCE
Found guilty of possession of 39,150 heroin pills and 647 ounces of pink mass, sufficient for making 64,750 pills, a Chinese woman, Ma Lai, was sen- tenced to six months hard labour by Mr. Justice R. E. Lindsell, Pulsne. Judge, at the Criminal Sessions this ~ morning. ⠀
