GRAF SPEE BLUFFED: DISCLOSURE BY MR. WINSTON CHURCHILL
London, To-day.
IN A RADIO BROADCAST last night on the Graf Spee battle, Mr. Winston Churchill, First Lord of the Admiralty, said that despite her far heavier armament and commanding range she was driven to take refuge in a neutral harbour. She then had the alternative of submitting to intern- ment or going down in battle like the Rawalpindi, which would have been honourable for her. She found a third alternative, emerging, not to fight, but to sink herself in the fairway of a neutral state from which she had received shelter and succour as prescribed by International Law.
She knew that the British heavy day is trying to bomb unarmed mer- ships-H.M.S. The rare and subtle character of White Horse sets it apart from any other whisky. You can tell it by its exquisite bouquet alone. But it is the perfect blending of fragrance with mell-turrets knocked out, while the owness and smoothness which makes White Horse Whisky the equal of a fine liqueur. The millions of gallons of finest Scotch whisky matured and maturing ensure that the quality of White Horse never variés.
